January. It’s like the snow comes and covers the city in thick blanket of white to remind us of new beginnings. Sure, technically there’s nothing special about the month January, but starting a new year sure does put so many things into perspective. I’ve felt convicted to start this year a little healthier and a little more disciplined. So far, it’s actually been going pretty well. Here’s a little of what this month is looking like in the Baker home…
Making : Hot, sit-down-at-the-table breakfast every morning. It’s glorious
Cooking : So many vegetables. We are 10 days deep into the Whole30
Drinking : Tea, tea & more tea. Because, Whole30
Reading : Just finished Boston Girl and really enjoyed it. I love historical fiction
Wanting : To learn how to live with less
Looking : Outside at sunshine. I am so thankful for sun when it’s cold
Playing : Damien Rice’s new album for the first time as I write this
Wasting : Too much time on Pinterest
Wishing : The cost of living in DC would go down (I can dream, right?)
Enjoying : A break from junk food, drinking, and over indulgence
Waiting : On the Lord for direction in several areas of our life
Liking : Figuring out a morning routine that works for me
Wondering : What life will look like in January 2016
Loving : Being slight homebodies this month and staying cozy indoors
Hoping : We finish the Whole30 strongly and continue the journey of a healthy lifestyle
Needing : To make specific and tangible business goals for the year
Smelling : The hickory and maple candle on my desk
Wearing : A lot of leggings, over-sized cardigans, and boots
Noticing : How much it hurts my abs to cough or sneeze after this new work out plan (ouch)
Knowing : That I need to take down my Christmas decorations, but I am not ready
Thinking : Time goes far too fast, even when it feels like it’s not moving at all
Feeling : A little anxious about the future, but practicing contentment and joy
Anyone else taking stock lately? I’d love to see your posts.
