I am sad summer is coming to an end, but my spirit feels full when I reflect on the great photography projects I was able to be part of over the past few months. You may remember my post about Dave and I contributing for Bittersweet’s spring issue, well I was honored to be asked again by the wonderful Bittersweet Zine team to be a contributor for their summer issue. The Zine went digital this summer, so those of you that live far away from the district can read about bittersweet stories from your computer screen. (You can read about their decision here) I am continually inspired and uplifted by the vision of the Bittersweet staff and by the organizations I am privileged to photograph. This summer’s issue focused on DC roots and history. Here are my contributions from Summer 2013:
The first organization I photographed was the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop. Please check out the rest of my photo essay and Bittersweet’s post here
Next, I photographed HR-57. Please check out the rest of my photo essay and Bittersweet’s post here
Finally, I photographed the DC Youth Orchestra Program. Please check out the rest of my photo essay and Bittersweet’s post here
Big thank you to Bittersweet for allowing me to contribute to their vision and to the organizations for welcoming me and my camera into their spaces. Please take a moment to look through the other posts and contributions and learn about DC roots and history.
You are FABULOUS, Erica!! Thank you for using your skills, talents, experience in such a meaningful way! Your photos are an absolute gift to each organization and to the readers of the Zine.
More to come!
