Earlier this summer I had the privilege of shooting for Kicheko‘s first look book. A few weeks prior to the shoot, Sarah and I toured the grounds where we would be shooting. The moment I stepped on location and walked through the ruins of an old seminary, I knew that this shoot would be nothing short of magical. What a joy it was to work with such creative minds and use our talents to raise money for children in eastern Congo.
Last week, Kicheko launched its late summer|early fall lookbook called “Midsummer’s Night Reign.” The first production of its kind; Kicheko, meaning “smile or laughter” in Swahili, is a cause-based brand that produces and promotes social goods.
Proceeds from sales go towards orphan care and continuing education in eastern Congo. Essentially, every pair of earrings helps a child eat and go to school. View the new collection here.
I am incredibly excited about the work that Kicheko is doing to send children to school in eastern Congo and feel honored to be apart of this project. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the first look we shot. I will post a few favorites from the second look later this week.
Please go check out the full Look Book!
